What the indexing status page tells you
In order for items like evidence or policy documents to be visible to Trustero AI, and used by features like control checks or Trustero Intelligence, they first need to be indexed. The indexing status page shows the state of indexing:
- Items that still need to be indexed
- Items that could not be indexed
Q: How long does each item take to index?
A: Each item typically takes a few seconds to index.
Q: What are the different errors that I can see in the indexer status page?
A:
Error | What It Means | How to Fix It |
|
The file type is not supported. This happens if you upload something unusual, like ZIPs files or other items that are not needed for GRC. | Remove the file. Typically not helpful for GRC purposes anyway. |
|
This happens when Trustero AI tries to extract text from a document, but it doesn't find any. This typically happens with images -- either uploaded directly or embedded within PDFs or Word documents. | Make sure the image contains text if you want it to be read by Trustero AI. |
|
Internal Trustero error | Try indexing again by pressing the retry button. If problems persist, contact customer success. |
|
A row in tabular data (e.g., CSV file, Excel file) is more than ~3000 words. | This usually means you added a file that probably shouldn't be in Trustero (e.g., detailed ops or security logs). Remove it from Trustero. |
|
Some other error happened. | Try reindexing. If that doesn't work, contact customer success. |
