2. How It Works

Policy Design Assessment helps you evaluate your policies against compliance frameworks or regulations. The system analyzes your selected policies, compares them to framework requirements, and highlights any gaps where coverage is missing.
In short: upload or select your policies, choose a framework, and review the gap analysis report.
3. Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Start the Assessment
The policy design assessment is integrated into the Trustero Intelligence chat interface and so is initiated by requesting an assessment through chat.

- On the Trustero Intelligence page, click New Chat.
- From the suggested prompts, select Policy Design Assessment to get started.

You can also type your own prompt with additional details, for example:
“I’d like to perform a design assessment against the ISO 27001 framework using all of my policies.”
This custom prompt will automatically select the appropriate framework and policies for your assessment.
Step 2: Select Policies
You’ll first choose which policies to include in the assessment.

In most cases, you’ll want to include all policies for full coverage.

If you only need to analyze a specific section of a framework, you can select a subset of your policies.

If some policies haven’t yet been uploaded, you can add them directly during the workflow.

Step 3: Select Framework or Regulation
Next, you’ll choose the framework (or government regulation) you want to assess against.

Several common frameworks are included by default.

You can also upload your own compliance document, and Trustero will process it for analysis.

You may analyze the entire framework or focus on specific sections.

Step 4: Run the Assessment
The platform converts the selected framework or regulation into a structured set of questions. These questions are automatically applied to your chosen policies.

Any gaps—where no policy addresses a framework requirement—are highlighted.

The process works equally well for both industry compliance frameworks and government regulations.

Step 5: View the Final Report
The platform generates a comprehensive report that includes:

From the report, you can drill down into each framework section and individual requirement to review specific gaps in your policies.
After updating your policies to address these gaps, simply rerun the assessment to validate your changes.
